Italian American artist and architect Roger DiCamillo draws from a rich cultural background to create lush, vivid landscapes that are masterful in execution and suffused with emotive expressionism. Working in oils, watercolors, pastels, sculpture, pottery, and lithography, DiCamillo draws on life’s experiences and works instinctively, allowing forms to evolve on the canvas or paper into striking compositions.
Inspired by the work of such artists as Walt Kuhlman and Robert E. Wood, DiCamillo also incorporates colors and images from his native New Mexico and roots in Cansano, Italy, which accounts for the visual diversity found in his work. There is a real sense of order and geometry in each, which contrasts beautifully with a complex palette and textural elements to create images both lovely to behold and entirely memorable.
