Big Yellow Taxi
by Biddy Hodgkinson
in the collection of
Lucinda Phillips and Glen Scantlebury, Los Angeles, California
We first saw
Big Yellow Taxi
at Agora Gallery during the artist’s exhibition. We attended the opening reception, which we
really enjoyed, along with the gallery space itself.
We were immediately attracted to the painting because we loved the artist’s use of paint and other materials to express
the concept of the painting - the expression of using corroded metals, rust and oils, together with vibrant colors really at-
tracted us and conjured up an urban feel.
We didn’t have a particular place in mind for the artwork before purchasing it, but we knew it would fit somewhere in our
home.
Every morning we see
Big Yellow Taxi
and it always raises our spirits. That’s the power of art you love.
Reflection
by Adriana Escobar
in the collection of
Francis Lopez, M.D. MPH, New York, NY
When I was a foreign exchange student in Mexico City, Mexico, I studied Mexican Art History.  Mexican Art History cannot
be told without having a conversation about Frida Khalo.   Since then, Frida Khalo has been someone whom I admire as a
person and an artist.
