We all have 24 hours in a day, and it is extremely important to be aware of how we spend them. Here it is very important to have
inner discipline: Routine brings results. A disorganized genius is no match for the average person with a daily routine. Find at
least 15 minutes per day to paint. I practice when I eat or watch television. I place my paintings on the wall so I can look at them
during commercials. We artists know we are working even if we are just staring at a painting. And it is amazing how it helps – I
can see what I want to add or change, and in this way move forward, little by little, every day. I put the first layers of paint on
four or five paintings in the evening and allow them to dry overnight as I sleep. The next evening I put another one or two layers
on to dry. The next evening I analyze my canvases, turn to my imagination, and work on details. Believe me, it works like magic!
Enjoying our receptions is a way for artists to “recharge our batteries” – looking at beautiful artworks and conversing with
visitors and other artists serves as inspiration and stimulation for creating new pieces of art. There is no doubt that every artist
remembers the extraordinary experience of their opening reception for the rest of their lives.
Kristina’s artwork will be included in an upcoming exhibition at Agora Gallery, Divergent Realities, from October 10 – 30, 2014,
with an opening reception on Thursday, October 16.
