I really enjoyed the November issue of ARTis Spectrum Magazine. I already distributed the copies you sent to me to Croatian Bar Association and to Museum for Arts and Crafts. They asked for them because they liked them very much. The other copies you sent to me I plan to distribute to American Embassy in Croatia, Ministry of Culture for Croatia as well as to Croatian National Shrine of Mother of God of Marija Bistrica. Generally, I can say that a lot of people saw the Magazine and liked it very much.

I did enjoy the November issue of ARTisSpectrum. I thought it was a very professionally written and assembled publication, and I was proud to be featured in it. I found the review of my work to be flattering almost to the point of embarrassment, and I enjoyed reading about and seeing the works of all the other artists who were featured.

I found the publication ARTisSpectrum of a very high standard. All the articles were interesting & informative. Two articles were outstanding & of great use to me & I am sure to all artists. The first one is " Artists Statements " by Ariane Goodwin. The second one is " Going Public " by Lynda Pogue. I am delighted to have been included in your publication. I found that the writer had understood the influences and direction of my thoughts on my life in South Africa. I thank him.

Thank you so much for a fantastic magazine. I have and do still enjoy reading it. I am very pleased to see that the review about myself has been placed so early in the magazine. I think that this is of some importance. I feel that the idea of letting some artists write in the magazine is a very good idea and it makes the audience and the reader more curious as to see what is going on in the artworld

It is interesting to read about Artists and how each of them sees Art.
It is both strange and great how Artists and People in general coming from different Countries with different Cultures and Customs unite and struggle for one thing: Art.

Your reference to Artists with Special Needs made me realize that: If you love Art, you will find a way to express it!

Art has no limits!!!

ArtisSpectrum Magazine supports this Saying .

I must also express my admiration for this marvelous analysis of my artwork, which you set properly to the deepest core of its extension.

I believe that the last phrase “Giannis Stratis broadens his love of art by living it as well”, gave the essence of who Giannis Stratis really is and of his true love about art.

Thank you very much!!!

Best Regards,

I have been trying to write down my impressions about ARTisSpectrum for weeks now and particularly about my article but several good proposals I had from Galleries for exhibiting my works and my current work kept me busy all this time.

From these proposals I mark out a proposal of the Society of the Greek Physicists for participation in their congress (topic: “Art and Science”) with a photo exhibition that will be held at ‘Technopolis” in the municipality of Athens, a photo exhibition at Silk Museum Volos /Greece within 2007 and another one with paintings within 2008, a participation in DeArte at Art Fair Madrid in January 2008, an exhibition at Brick Lane Gallery of London and one more recent proposal for participation in Beijing of China in March 2008, proposals that I accepted.

One morning I finally held the magazine in my hands with great anxiety. Twenty issues directly from Chelsea , the heart of art in New York , from Agora Gallery, to the little world of my atelier and of my life! I was inspired by New York air and my mind was already travelling mentally over the Atlantic .

I started to turn over the pages slowly. Good shape, nice paper quality, nice colors was my first impression.

I discover that the Greek element is strongly represented in this issue. The article on Chelsea Art catches my attention. I'm interested in everything is about the phenomenon “ Chelsea ”, in that way I was impressed by the article on Chelsea and Soho of the previous issue. I'm keeping it aside to read it later at my leisure.

I'm travelling between the works of my colleagues from all over the world, I ‘m looking at their works. I'm thinking that it's great to be able to see through the internet what people like you can create with anxieties and speculations.

The impressive photos in pages 26/27 cache my attention and particularly the article “Art that Saves our World”. I adore the animals. “Great work” I'm thinking. I like the artist's concept. We have many things in common with this artist regarding the way we see life in general. His timely work “touches me”, makes me think, thoughts that lead to a dead-end for the time being.

When I close the magazine three things from what I read are turning over in my mind:

A question suddenly puzzled me “After the Chelsea event what? Which place on earth will take the torch? Where will the heart of the art beat when Chelsea will be in decadence- which will be a long time off of course but that will take place some time in the future (because all things in life have their circle). Will it be in USA , in Europe as before? Only time can tell us…

Even now, after some weeks I turn over the pages of the magazine in order to write a few words about it and as I am having a very hot summer which with the indifference of some fellow-citizens-arsonists resulted in leaving behind thousands of acres of burnt forest, I'm thinking over seriously how the Art could save the environment by making people and politicians more sensitive. It may be late of course for something like that…The phrase “Blue Planet” is crossing my mind and makes me sad.

It would be a lie if I didn't admit that the third thing that I'm thinking is the article about me and my work.  At the beginning I was surprised by the selection of the works. But after studying carefully the article I realized that they are in complete harmony with it. I could see my life passing again through my eyes: my childhood, my uprooting, health problems in general, my painting topics, the older and the most recent ones, everything was brought back to life. And it's not this event that caught my attention. It's the connection that the writer uses between these events regarding my work. Suddenly everything has a start, middle and an end. The reason was found why some things have been done and are done that way. The reason was found why I express myself the way I do and see things the way I see them. It's amazing.

I was asked some questions about my life and me. I answered them impulsively and honestly. Reading now the article I see in front of me a psychogram that many psychologists would envy and which represents reality 100%.

I sort out and keep from the text the last sentence that ends like that:” … sorrow and fear have carved in her a larger living space for radical joy, for radical vision.” It's the most accurate thing I've ever heard or read about me. It really touched me. And the truth is that I like to see it written … it helps me to have it always in mind.

I want to thank from the bottom of my heart the writer of my article for the very accurate approach he made. It certainly is a perfect psychogram through and through. I admire his knowledge and his sensitivity as well that he proved to have.

Respectfully

Sophia Angelis

I received and have read the copy of ARTisSpectrum. I found it to be very informative and well laid out. I enjoyed reading the articles on each featured artist. Also I particularly found the articles on Chelsea quite interesting. My memories of Chelsea are from the late 1970's and 1980's. I see alot has changed since then.

Thank you again,

Hallo Angela,

Needless to say how delighted I am.. Apart from a small tabulator problem on the index page the overall impression is excellent.

The eloquence of all staff-written profiles(your's included) is amazing (especially for a non-english reader like myself. The variety of artistic styles and their balanced selection witness the cosmopolitan nature of ARTisSpectrum magazine and reflect the cultural melting pot NY must be (and stay). Also amusing is the Chelsea article in general and the special focus on The Chelsea Hotel (Andy W. L. Cohen Sid V..etc.). and last but not least one does enjoy an occasional change like a dramatic art image instead of a rather sterile person's photo on the cover.

Best Regards,

Karel

Angela,

Congratulations on the latest publication of ArtisSpectrum Magazine. I am very excited about being featured in the new issue and do hope that it will generate much attention... and revenues. As you know, this is the first time that I embark on such a venture and am enjoying the ride. You and your staff have been so helpful and kind that it has turned out to be an easy journey. I am a little disappointed about the "no sales" aspect but I am sure that exposure takes time.

I read the on-line version of the magazine and did find it very engaging. I particularly liked the article on the art revitalization of Chelsea. It made me feel proud to be part of it and felt a bit of nostalgia remembering the sight of the crowd when I left the Agora reception on September 7th. You run a fabulous show.

Talk to you soon

Pat
